Point Du Hoc

What was left after all the bombings

View from Point Du Hoc which lies between Utah and Omaha Beaches

One of the bigger craters from the bombs. The boys loved running in and out of them.

At the top of the cliffs. . . .
Mere Saint Eglese near Utah Beach. A paratrooper got caught on the church and ended up being one of the few survivors who landed in the town. The town keeps a dummy up there with a parachute in honor of the event

Mont Saint Michele from a distance

And up close!

Inside Mont Saint Michele. Adam is holding a plastic turtle. At every stop he was holding some type of animal that he would carry around with him all day and take very good care of.

Adam and Caleb in one of the courtyards. Frank was already in the car with cranky Joshua at this time.

  1. I was just thinking about you today. It is great to see pictures. You are so lucky to be able to go and see so many different places. I love the gardens at the beginning of the post. How much longer are you stationed there?
