Beautiful Prague:
We took a Thanksgiving weekend trip to tour some German Christmas markets and the incredible city of Prague in the Czech Republic
FAMILY PICTURES: Germany

It's been awhile since I've updated things. It's been pretty crazy these past three months! Frank is in Afghanistan until December and me and the boys made the trip by ourselves to Phoenix from Frankfurt Germany a few days before Christmas. My boys did great but the 21 hours it took to travel from our door in Germany to my parents door in Gilbert was the biggest physical challenge I have EVER gone through! Who needs to run marathons when you can travel over seas by yourself with three little boys?! Every muscle in my body was either bruised or sore for the whole week following the trip. My visions of burning down the Frankfurt Airport have decreased in number so I think I am starting to heal emotionally!
The flight to Denver was just like a 10 1/2 hour long church meeting. I was standing up a lot with Joshua. By the end of the trip I had the stewardesses tell me how impressed they were with me. They said usually mothers who travel alone are either crying or yelling at the kids. I was being too stubborn to yell or cry. If I can say goodbye to my husband twice while he goes into a war zone for a year, I'm not going to waste my tears on traveling alone!--Please!

Being out of country for 2 1/2 years really made me appreciate America and Americans. Americans are a happy and generous people. Once I landed in Denver for our three hour layover I had many people going way out of their way to help me and get me to my gate safely. A nice young man even carried Adam on the plane for me since he was dead asleep by the time we were loading for Phoenix. If I can't be in Europe with my man than the very next best place is in Arizona with family!

Love your family pictures! Such vibrant fall colors, and Annette, you look pretty dang hot in those pictures, too!!!!
ReplyDeleteA lot of your pictures of Prague looked so familiar to me--I must've seen some of the same things you did when I went there with Viking Choir in 1997.
I'm glad you made it back in one piece, Annette! Sounds like it was an experience you will never forget. I agree, I never fully appreciated America until we moved out here. I hope you are doing well. 11 months and counting! :)
