Our June Holiday

Six months has already gone by.  Frank came for his two week mid tour break this past month.  He was here for our 10th anniversary, as well as lots of other family gatherings.  He was able to see most of his family and most of mine during his short visit.  We made it a point to stay in Arizona this time and not do any traveling beyond that.  Being irritated with California and their "boycott" had a little to do with that!

I had a hard time saying good bye to Frank again.  I was trying to light my stubborn independent fire again and keep my chin high but I must admit it is taking me a few days to get back into not thinking about how much I want my husband around. The day he left felt like I had just gone to a funeral.  It was just really horrible and empty and depressing!  I couldn't wait to go to bed so the day could end.  At least we know he's coming back!  We're down to 160 days!

Here are some pictures of this past month!  Frank and I ran away to the Grand Canyon via Montezuma Castle.  Man, I have a good looking man!  And yes, we like to kiss.  We had people ask us if we were newly weds.  They kind of looked at us weird when we said we've been married ten years.  I'm sure they were just excessively jealous!

  3. Dear Annette,

I am overcome with emotion as I think about how difficult it must be for you and thousands of other families who must be separated from their loved ones so that freedom's light can burn in other lands. I am grateful to Frank and his comrades who have left their loved ones behind to be able to carry out the mission of bringing peace to oppressed people. I hope the next six months fly by and that soon you will hold him and not have to let go. I love you, Annette! May Heavenly Father bless you with the strength needed to meet the challenges of this separation. Thank you for your sacrifice! Tell your mom and dad hello.

  4. Hey, Annette! When are you coming back to Germany? It has got to be soon, right? Is Frank back, yet? Looking forward to seeing you soon and let me know if you need help with the transition back here.
